Sleepover Success!

I survived my first sleepover!!! 1 down, 8,999,999 to go!!! I think the next one may be a while though =) I mean with more than 1 friend present. Those little girls didn't go to sleep until after 10:00! I was asleep by 11 and one of them was still up, having problems going to sleep. I only know that because the hubby woke me up telling me he heard somebody & to go upstairs and check on whoever it was (she was just going potty and the other 3 were already asleep; I gave her a kitty to sleep with and she said that would help). Then what do my little ears hear at 6:30 in the morning... giggling! Four little girls were up and raring to go. I did go upstairs and ask them to be quiet so that I could sleep a little longer but by 7:00, I realized that was a lost cause. It told the moms to pick up the girls at 11 and the last one left at 10:55. I took a 2 hour nap that afternoon and was still in bed at 11 Saturday night.

In true form, Peanut went to bed at 8:30 (only by the grace of God because it was NOT because 4 little girls were playing quietly) and I woke her up at 8:15 the next morning. Oh how I wished it were me =)

The girls had a lot of fun. I got Papa Murphy's pizza for dinner (but they barely ate). We had cupcakes and ice cream (Edy's Light Birthday cake ice cream... it was AWESOME!). Then we let the girls play Wii Sports resort for a little while. They also colored their own Tinkerbell pillow case to take home with them. Then we got ready for bed, put in Kung Fu Panda and ate popcorn. I turned everthing off at 9:30 because they were doing Kung Fu moves along with the panda and I realized that they weren't going to settle down with the tv on. It still took another 45 minutes and 4 trips of "shush-ing" to get them to sleep! The next morning was not as organized. They had donuts and pig-in-a-blankets for breakfast. At 10:00 they wanted a snack and asked for the remaining cupcakes. I knew I'd eat them if they were left with us so I let the girls eat them (there were 5 left, thankfully!). Then we started to clean up. When I say "we" I mean the hubby did 98% of it. I was more trying to settle disputes, console a very tired and whiny Bug and get the girls stuff together to take home! Bug said it was "the best birthday ever" and she had fun. She also asked if she could do it again for her sixth birthday and I just said "when it gets closer to when you turn 6, we will talk about it." Her reply: "how far away is that??"
